I’ve been pretty busy with all kinds of nonsensical (from writing-a-post-point of view anyway) stuff lately, so a photo post will have to do. On Saturday it was again time for the Helsinki Samba Carnaval; the weather was a lot better this time around than on many previous years – sunny and +27C. Perfect for the audience, maybe a bit on the hot side for the performers.
Anyhow, here’s a sample of my photographic yield; in addition to myself, there were about 15,000 other photographers present so it shouldn’t be difficult finding more photos of the event
As usual, click on the thumbnails for the full photo.

Today the photographing continued onto natural beauty of another kind.
To get a break from mundane but necessary tasks like washing the windows (“Wow, we do have a view outside from our windows!”), we walked over to the Rhododendron park in Helsinki, which is at the prime of its bloom right now. The area is filled with thousands of rhododendrons of varying colors; below is just one example – head over to Sarita’s post for more photos.
Yeah, it must be lots of fun there last Saturday, but it’s a pity I missed it…
